Eating Out in Elie

A Home Away from Home

You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to food during your stay at No. 26.

Fish Suppers

Fact – fish suppers taste better from the East Neuk villages than they do at home. Or anywhere else for that matter! The Anstruther fish bar has the highest profile and many accolades to its name. You can sit in here, eat them by the harbourside (the harbour is stunning) or you can take them home. Be prepared to queue at peak times in high season.

Here’s the hidden gem – the very unassuming chippy in Pittenweem. When I was wee, the queues were way round the corner, and they deserve more recognition for what is always a deeply satisfying fish supper.

Murray’s Chip Van comes to Elie a couple of days a week. Check the window of the newsagent or the Facebook page for days/times as they vary throughout the year. He also does a great fish supper!
