A Home Away from Home
Don’t take our word for it - this is what a few of our guests think.
"We absolutely loved our stay at Number 26"
"We absolutely loved our stay at Number 26, it had everything we needed for a perfect week away from home. From the moment we arrived, we felt immediately relaxed and welcome especially knowing that our little dog was safe in the enclosed garden and without a long list of rules about where he could and couldn’t go (which we’ve encountered in other Elie properties). The house is just a couple of minutes walk to the beach and to the Ship Inn , a walk we took many times during our stay! Having safe, off-road parking was also an added bonus, in fact there were several days that we didn’t even use the car because there are so many lovely walks right from the doorstep. There was nothing we could think of that could have improved our stay, the owner really has thought of everything. We have already booked our return visit to Number 26 and we are counting down the days until we are there again."
"Would Unreservedly Recommend No.26"
"We were the lucky winners of the No. 26 competition on Facebook and have just spent a fabulous week there. The house is lovely, a complete home from home, and had everything we needed for a winter break. The weather was very cold but kind enough for us to get out and about along the coastal villages during the daytime and enjoy the warmth and cosiness of the house in the evenings. The cooking facilities were great and we appreciated touches such as the board games which passed a few evenings. We found Elie folk very friendly and we’re made to feel welcome both in the Station Buffet Bar which showed the football games and in the Ship Inn with its crackling log fire. We’ve never been to Elie in winter before but would unreservedly recommend No.26 and Elie itself to anyone who wants a winter break with all the comforts of home."
"The house was perfect"
"We had a lovely week away at No. 26 in Elie. The house was perfect in a quiet cul de sac which was great for our dogs getting in and out of the car and the house had everything we needed and was a lovely home from home. We all settled in straight away and were happy to find the kitchen well equipped and with enough crockery and utensils to suit our needs - Stuart is a chef so usually takes a few bits and pieces along. It was nice there were some essentials in the cupboard tea, sugar, bits and pieces - we used some and left some, homemade jam from mum! We loved being so close to the beach and the walks every way round to ruby bay. We took our metal detector and Natasha had her wetsuit too so made the best of the beach which we had mostly to ourself everyday! Also enjoyed the food in and around Elie, the Larochmore in Pittenweem, The Dory Bistro too with lovely lunches, but the best food of the week was cooked in the kitchen @ no 26!"
“We’ll be back!”
"We spent a fantastic week in Elie. The house is perfect for enjoying everything Elie and the surrounding area has to offer – great walks, beaches, views, food and the odd tipple! The house itself is spacious, well decorated, cosy and with all mod cons. The icing on the cake is a well-appointed, sheltered, quiet garden; ideal for enjoying breakfast, lunch or a BBQ in the evening when the sun is shining – a real bonus and particularly enjoyed by our dog, Bella! Lucy and Krysia couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating – nothing is left to chance. They continue to invest in improving the property and take real pride in laying on the perfect experience – thanks again. We’ll be back!”
“To say we love it is an understatement”
"My partner and I, and our little dog have been returning to "No. 26" in Elie for a few years now and to say we love it is an understatement. The cottage itself is clean, cosy & comfortable with a wonderful garden & just a few minutes away from the beach, shops & pub. It is also super well equipped with all the amenities you could think of. The fabulous Ship Inn is just a few minutes round the corner where you can eat yummy food, has a great atmosphere & is dog-friendly. I would highly recommend "No 26" to anyone who is looking for a chilled out holiday in Elie."
“Always delighted to go back”
"We've stayed at No. 26 several times now, and we're always delighted to go back. It's a home from home, but better! A huge positive for us is that our two dogs are welcome. They love the beach in Elie (so do we!). The cottage is in a lovely quiet area and has everything you need for your stay. The enclosed garden is a beautiful sun-trap. It's just a relaxed place to be and we always come back from our stay at No. 26 feeling refreshed (with two worn out chocolate labradors!)"
“Everything has been thought through”
"No. 26 is a welcoming holiday cottage, with lots of Elie charm. We have always found it to be clean, well presented and comfortable and as a family with 3 boys, we appreciate practical features like the washer-dryer and good sized dining table. Everyone sleeps well in their beds at No. 26 – the bedding always freshly laundered and smelling beautiful. Our boys make the most of Elie….the golf, tennis, crabbing, pier jumping, rock exploring, cliff walking, water sports and they then enjoy coming home to the cosiness of No. 26…nothing beats a hot bath, fish and chips by the fire and a board game. Or we feed the family outside, surrounded by the pretty garden. There is also plenty of room to store mountain bikes (in our case 3 large bikes) in the outside shed…everything has been thought through."
“Perfect for a holiday”
"No. 26 is perfect for a holiday, whether it be a weekend or longer. It is in a great location, quiet, within walking distance of everything in Elie, and has a fantastic secluded garden, plus, a spacious house, which comes fully equipped. Glass of wine in the garden listening to the birds, fabulous. Living the dream!"
"Wonderful house"
Wonderful house to stay in while enjoying a little break in Elie. Very homely but also very modern and has everything you need especially the sky TV for the kiddies! Very private and quiet and loved the garden for the pooches. Will definitely be booking here again very soon!
"It has everything you need for your stay, and lots of little extras too"
Just back from our fabulous weeks holiday at the beautiful No.26 Elie in the stunning East Neuk of Fife. Well, what a wonderful place to stay, this lovely, modern, spacious and very comfortable house sleeps 4 (2 bedroom/2 bathroom) and is dog friendly too! It has everything you need for your stay, and lots of little extras too. It also has a lovely secure garden with a hose to rinse the sand off your wee 4 legged friend, and patio set to sit and have a glass of wine(unfortunately was a bit cold in November!) It's about 5 minutes walk to the beautiful Elie beach, (where we had lots of lovely walks with Jess) and The Ship Inn for a great meal and a lemonade! ( though probably 15 minutes walk back, depending on how many lemonades you have, hehem!) There's lots to see and do in the area, we visited St Monans, Pittenweem, Anstruther, Dundee and Tentsmuir. We can't wait to go back!
"Looking forward to returning next year!"
"If you’re looking for a break away with your 4 legged friend then look no further than No26 in Elie. It’s spacious, tastefully decorated and only 5 minutes walk from all the village of Elie has to offer. There’s a fully enclosed garden which is well maintained and has outdoor seating for alfresco dining in the warmer months. Elie is the ideal base to explore the surrounding villages either on foot along the Fife coastal path or a few minutes drive. The village itself has a few shops, pubs and amazing beaches. Lucy the owner provided useful tips on good walks and places to eat and even scent on Charlie’s cuddly toy he left behind. Nothing was too much trouble. Looking forward to returning next year! ☀️😄"
Home Away From Home
We stayed at No 26 for a week at Christmas. The house is ideally located for some excellent beach walks & just a short walk to Elie High Street. Lucy couldn’t be more helpful throughout the booking process & during our stay. No 26 is definitely a home from home - very comfortable & with all the amenities you require, along with some very thoughtful extras. A great enclosed garden which Cora (golden retriever) loved when she wasn’t on the beach. Highly recommend No.26 and I’m sure we’ll be booking again. Thanks for a great relaxing holiday.
"Super dog friendly"
"Super dog friendly holiday home. Excellent customer service, lots of information provided etc"
"Amazing, comfortable home with a lovely garden"
"We had an absolutely wonderful week at No26. Amazing, comfortable home with a lovely garden to sit in and for the dog. Just perfect. We could have sat watching the dozens of wee birds and the rabbit all day but so many wonderful places to visit and hike parts of the Fife Coastal path. Please take bird food you won’t regret it. Lucy was amazing and sorted us out after cancellations throughout Covid. Made us feel special and showed that she cared. That was special. Everything you needed and a lovely welcome pack which was well scoffed. Thanks a million. There are not enough adjectives to use. We will be back. Thanks from Morag, Betty and a very tired but happy Bliss (the one with the swimming phobia ha ha) xx"
"The house has everything you need for a holiday and the dog was made very welcome!"
"We had a great stay at No 26 in spite of the mixed weather! The house is ideally suited for access to the beach, the coastal walks and all that Elie has to offer. The house has everything you need for a holiday and the dog was made very welcome! The garden is beautiful and is fully enclosed and safe. Suffice to say we have booked again for next year!"
